Default Trickflow top end kit..anybody have?

Im stuck in between the trick flow kit or a custom grind cam and heads from lloyd elliott. The only reason why im considering the Trick Flow kit is because it comes with the whole package(gaskets, head bolts, rockers , ect). THE ONLY ISSUE THAT I HAVE WITH THE TRICKFLOW PACKAGE is that it says its great for N/A engines and im squeezing. Someone tell me if the cam below would be alright for nitrous. Thanks for any help

Cam specs

Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift: 227
Duration at 050 inch Lift: 219 int./227 exh.

I would do LE or A/I. Both are cheaper then that trick flow package LE or A/I can give you a cam ground for what you want.

Seems smarter to me atleast, save money, have more power, have something suited for your needs.

Yeah, I was doing my calculations, either way it goes im spendin an arm and a leg. The price is about the same either way. I just know I can get a custom grind from LE that would be great for the spray.

When you guys hear about guys running "nitrous specific" camshafts please keep in mind that they aren't running small 150 shots. If you plan on heavily spraying a car with a single shot over 250 or multiple stages of nitrous totalling over 300 then you need to plan your build with a nitrous specific camshaft in mind. If you are going to whack it with a 75-150 shot and the occasional 175-200 shot then use whatever camshaft you want.

Stock ported heads in the hands of the right porter almost always outperform as-cast aftermarket heads.

Lloyd Elliot Has great customer service, he spent 2 hours going over my set up and I couldn’t be any happier with the way it turned out. AI does great work too, its up to you with who you go with.

I would do LE2 heads and a matched camshaft. Then hit it with spray when you want. Fyi pacesetter headers suck and kooks are the way to go if you want great power.Throw a good fuel pump, injectors, and tune and you will be very happy

There are no issues using nitrous with this cam in our kit. It is not a specific nitrous grind but it will work great if you are spraying 150 shot or less.

/\ true dat /\ It's amazing to me how many people mess up the total performance of their engine by using "nitrous" cams with little 150 shots, missing the point that 75% of their power is still being made with "atmosphere" !

yup plus the cam all depends on head flow.........impossible to correctly spec a cam if you dont know what the heads, intake, exhaust looks like.........a cam that works perfect with a stock TFS head wont with a ported TFS obv....i ran a 8* split cam with stock TFS heads and made awesome power........now im running a mere 3* split with ported TFS's from AI
