I have a 95 z28 6 speed lt1! Not a every day driver, but let car run for a little while and got to operating temp! Then killed car the car didn't try to start back up until Next day!! Then all the car would do was spin over and over not even trying to start at all!! The motor is completely stock 6 speed with 108000 miles!! If there's any pointers u guys can give me it would be great thanks need additional info let me no thanks guys!! Greatly appriciated!!!

its ether fuel or spark? do you have fuel presure at the rails? are you getting spark. it sounds like ether a fuel pump or opti spark.

speedZ28 Feb 15, 2012 07:35 PM

Yes, have fuel pressure at rails!! So then means it could be opti I'll try that control model tested good and so did the coil!

Glad to see how excited you are! Easiest way to check spark is to pull a plug and with the plug wire still on the plug, ground the tip on a bolt on the frame while someone cranks the car over, but make sure you are holding the boot and not the ceramic or especially the metal. Look for a spark, works best a night or in a darker area.

Opti isnt cheap, but very likely to be the cause.

if it is the opti i have a pin style one i switch to 24x so i have no need so 50 and you pay shipping

Zlow28 Feb 15, 2012 08:03 PM

try jump starting it. might be the battery

speedZ28 Feb 15, 2012 08:28 PM

No not the battery lol just put a brand new one on it 5 minutes ago bahahaha and yes very excited like working on stuff lol

stuart4185 Feb 15, 2012 10:11 PM

instead of pulling a plug as we all know how much fun they are to swap in and out, go buy a $2 one and just pull a plug wire off

Ok got home starting messing with her again pull number 1 and stuck screw driver in boot, then grounded to exhaust manifold sparking like crazy!! I tryed starting it again just turn over and over lol!! But almost started but didn't so now all u smell is raw fuel bad!! So what u guys think change the opti!!

stuart4185 Feb 16, 2012 05:02 PM

you have spark, why would you change the opti? check your fuses, try hooking up a scanner and see if you get a code, whats the fuel pressure at the rail?

tt383lt1 Feb 16, 2012 05:02 PM

opti good if your getting spark. the only other thing on the top of my mind is the security system.

All your stuff is typed in lower case letters and yet I still read it as you yelling. How is that?!?!?

speedZ28 Feb 17, 2012 10:25 AM

Not yelling lol.. So if it sparking its good then rite? Ok well have one more problem lol half of the key is in the ignition broke it off it off in there and the other half on key chain so u stick it in there and it still starts, I mean Justed turns over if it is security can u just unplug it and car might tempt to start or how would I go about by doing this help please thanks guys!!

blk3rdgen91 Feb 17, 2012 01:00 PM

hey just because it has spark doesnt mean its still not the opti, I had spark and the rotor was falling off car wouldnt start. But its always best to start with checking your ICM then your Coil Then to the opti. but if your getting spark that means ICM and coil are still good. Dont be fooled just because you got spark!

wrd1972 Feb 17, 2012 01:03 PM

I say fouled plugs. Seen it before.

Pull a few and see if they are all sooty. I say the opti is fine.

speedZ28 Feb 17, 2012 06:59 PM

Ok will do thanks guys! I'll start with plugs... Keep u guys updated
