You will do much better if you can hook up with an LT1 Nut head and talk some of this through via PM's or email. They can help you figure out the basics so that you're not posting things in public that give haters a reason to bust your stones. You may think they're haters because of their attitude, but attitude aside they're mostly right. Do the right thing now and you'll enjoy the results more later!

no they are not reversible, steam lines in the back, someone put thier heads on wrong a few weeks ago, had to redo the entire thing.
if your heads are really trashed, i have a set of stock heads i would sell. i bought them so i would have less down time, then spun a bearing a few weeks later.

Dude take it from a fellow new LTXer. I'm finishing up my head and cam job now and I destroyed these boards and a couple guys on it by cell phone for months with question after question and research before I spent a dime. One thing I've learned on this site is when a proven LTX builder like RamAir tries to help you it's speaking from experience. Why in the world would you waste money "learning" when other people have already made the mistakes you are trying to. It just makes no sense.

You can take the plugs out of the heads and switch them around and it will be the same thing they are identical castings

Its your money, spend it how you like.
With that said, you might want to re-think your cam choice. I daily drove a CC306/LE2 combo for 4 years and it had no ***** down low. I dealt with bad street manners because I'm not a ***** and not having torque down low didn't bother me. If you want a big nasty cam, there are more modern and better choices than the CC306. If you want something with better street manners, get a smaller cam.
I learned a lot about what I want in a street car by having the wrong combo. Whether you want to learn by the braille method is up to you.
