Default opti, im gonna go there.

hi, new member here, about to get my first EFI engine. my friend selling me a 72000 mile 97 z-28 LT-1. no computer, harness, etc. as he will be using that stuff on his new motor. probably gonna run a carb on it for now. can i still run the factory opti to trigger an MSD Digital 6 Plus and send spark to plugs? or do i have to ditch it all and run a conventional distributor? thanks all, glad to be here.

I just made a plug for the opti cover and threw an electric pump and distributor on it. No more opti.

thanks. thats the logical approach(so naturally i'm trying something else!), just wondering if the opti route is possible.

I don't think I have ever recalled someone wanting to use the opti on a carbed setup. I would save my self the future headache and use a dizzy.
