AFR 190's? How do AFR 190's compare to AI 200cc or LE2 heads? I have a set of stock heads that have been cleaned up but I am looking for something that will make more power. The bottom end is a forged 383 with SRP flat top pistons. |
If they are stock they dont come close to comparing. If they are ported they can be similiar. Depends how much those AFRs will run you. In the long run if you have AI or LE port those heads they can produce some great numbers. AFRs have alot of meat on them so they are alot better for porting opposed to stock castings. I got a set of ported 190s and they seem to work pretty decent for what i paid. |
how much u getting them for |
go with trick flow |
The guy was wanting 1200 for the heads or 1500 for the heads with a port matched intake 58mm bbk and moly pushrods. What do you think is the price pretty decent? |
Unported AFR 190's are going to be middle of the road between your present heads and AI's or LE2's. Personally, I don't see the point for that much money. Only if they were COMPETENTLY ported and proven would I bite. |
I have a 190 dart casting and I had to have it ported twice to get the numbers that trick flows easily beat. |
I have a set of lt4 heads ported to le2 with a lt4 intake that will be better than those afr. If u want em lmk. |
With a forged 383 I would be looking at a much bigger head then an as-cast 190. They have potential when ported, but for that money, depending on your goals, you will probably be better off with some ported stockers. |
It really depends on if you want more then a stock ported LE2 or AI ported head offers down the road. You could go with the trick flow as cast 21 deg head and be as close or better then a LE2 head. They have more potential down the road but it all depends on what the budget is and what the goal is. Stock ported LE2's and AI's are no slouch. A trickflow 21 deg head cnc'd by AI.... I here is just flat out bad ass. With the right bottom end, cam and valve train it will be on the range of 500 rwhp N/A. |
