help pulling codes from 95 camaro!! HELP!

Ok I know this is an on going topic but im having an issue. Last night on the way home from the track my ses light kept coming on and off.

I know you can not jus use a normal scanner on the 95. So I got my friends obd1/obdII scanner. It has cords for both. It is a innova 3120.

When I plug in the obdII it says no protocol found...ok so I plug in the obd1 12 pin and use shbox diagram and jump the 2 wires into 5 and 9 ports on the car. Then it says car not responding and start over!

Im going to be ordering a cable so I can use my laptop but in the mean time I really need to figure out why the light keeps going on and off!

Any advice would help, Im pretty sure I have all the right tools just cant seem to make them work!!

I have seen many posts about the Innova scanners and people trying to use them on 95s with no success. I don't know why. Any plain jane OBDI scanner should work with the right cable or adapted like shown on my website.
