None taken. There is no such thing as common courtesy on the roads anymore. Everyone is out for themselves. Those who are in the left lane feel they have just as much right to be there as the person behind them trying to go faster. Same with yielding, merging, changing lanes, red light running, texting/talking on the phone... the list is endless. Pretty much most everyone on the road today sucks, and it's not going to get any better with parents, who practice such things as mentioned above, teach their kids the same **** habits.

Same here. Was rough at 100-140mph but once I passed that it was as if I wasn't even on the road no more.

I took my 98 z28 to about 145 once. It started to feel like the car was lifting off the ground.. I calmly let my foot off the gas a just coasted down to like 90 before using the brake pedal.

I've done 130 in mine and shes perfectly fine. I've done 120 in my 98 SC2 that was also fine. Limiter is 124 haha.
^ Thats good using the brakes at high speeds leads to brake fade very quick then you can't stop.

Now I know of the Small Block Chevy SB2.2. I heard you can convert those heads on an LT1. Lets say I stroke the LT1 to a 396 and threw on the SB2.2 heads on there. How much power, reliability and how high could I spin? Im looking at Thunder Racing for new brakes and suspension. They seem to have good stuff.

Look at Advanced Inductions or Lloyd Elliot. You can have your stock LT1 heads CNC'd out and they will produce with a cam from either over 400rwhp on stock cubes. If you make a 396ci if you let them help you, you could see over 500rwhp on N/A.

The vibration is more than likely the stock garbage steel drive-shaft. I wouldn't risk that kind of speed for any length of time on the stock poorly balanced shaft. If you get a little too much whip into the driveshaft it will destroy a lot of parts at that kind of speed.
As was said already, sustaining that kind of speed for any length of time would make me very concerned about engine oil, transmission fluid, and rear diff temperatures.
About the engine heating up going that fast i would try to beef up the front air-dam a little since it is probably flexing quite a bit at those speeds and not allowing full air-flow to the radiator. Not only that but the coolant temp staying at reasonable temps also helps control oil temps and vice versa

You could always retune the PCM to turn the fans on earlier, as well as run a 160* thermostat, although enlarging/reinforcing the airdam for those speeds would help as well. I would also run a cooler for power steering and oil as well.
Suspension wise, all new bushings, tie rods, etc. first. Then Koni shocks and Strano springs would be next. This alone will make a drastic change in how controlled the car is. A pair of 35 front/21 rear sway bars will help as well.
Brakes, I would DEFINITELY upgrade to C5 brakes, the stock LT1 brakes are pathetic to put it nicely.
Power wise, I agree with everyone else's suggestion, get a heads/cam setup from either Lloyd Elliot or Advanced Induction and you will push over 400-420rwhp, with a custom 396 setup, many are pushing 475+rwhp as well.

Im really making plans to rebuild an LT1 Camaro and make it into a unique master piece. What are the advantages with the new Camaro's ZL1 magnetic ride suspension. Im inspired to take the technology from the ZL1 and make one unique 1995 Camaro. I know were talking big bucks but It was always my life long dream of rebuilding a Muscle Car. How possible is it to get the 3 calibration controls Tour, Sport, and Track on a 95 camaro? I think it would be bravo if a 95 Camaro had 2012 Technology.

Hey guys im so excited I just bought my 1st american muscle car a 1995 Camaro Z28 6-speed with the LT1. Ive always been fascinated with the american muscle cars. As some of you may know we dont have speed limits on some of our highways and 130+ mph driving here is a norm for sports cars. Its so safer also because theres 3 lanes. 1 lane for semi trucks, 1 lane for slow cars, and 1 lane for people that are late for work. The question is how reliable is an LT1 at 200kph-280 around 120 to 150mph? I work in Berlin and live in Dresden about 200km away and have to drive to work on a daily basis. I know german cars are made for that but im curious about the american engineering. The car has new wheels and tires. Z rated tires 245 35 ZR18's and 335 35 ZR18's rear Continental Tires. I know americans arent use to these types of speeds but just to let you know its is perfectly normal and safe or else there would be a speed limit here.
