assuming you've never had the cooling system/ hoses apart recently you're getting air somehow in the cooling system. Doesn't matter if the cap seems tight still might not hold the correct PSI and you should be hoping its the cap and not something more wallet damaging. Other common issues causing this are blown head gaskets or you have another less serve break in the cooling lines.
If you really want to rule out the cap instead of just buying a new one (is it stock or ever been replaced) they sell/rent some pressure tester thing at your local chain auto store usually to test both the cooling system under pressure and the cap. Good Luck.
