Default Water blown out top of....

What would cause water/antifreeze to blow out of the top of the reservoir cap?? This happened while at about 6000 rpms

Cap is tight and secure on radiator, as is the cap on the reservoir, which was where it blew put at

assuming you've never had the cooling system/ hoses apart recently you're getting air somehow in the cooling system. Doesn't matter if the cap seems tight still might not hold the correct PSI and you should be hoping its the cap and not something more wallet damaging. Other common issues causing this are blown head gaskets or you have another less serve break in the cooling lines.

If you really want to rule out the cap instead of just buying a new one (is it stock or ever been replaced) they sell/rent some pressure tester thing at your local chain auto store usually to test both the cooling system under pressure and the cap. Good Luck.

I did recently put a tranny cooler on and didn't cap off where the old lines went. I can replace the cap no problem though

It's been running awesome between 160 and 180 for the past two years. Never had a problem

As stated, get a tester at any autoparts store. Cap should hold 18psi of pressure before the spring compresses.
