10's in street trim

Just to get it out of the way. Yes the car should be quicker for the power it makes and yes it weighs a lot. :burn:

Buddy of mine with a H/C LS1 Camaro called me out not too long ago for some Test &Tune runs at Englishtown. My buddy and I arrived at different times so it was difficult to run one another. The weather didn't cooperate too well the past few weeks but this past Wednesday was beautiful. Everyone else thought the same so it was pretty crowded. I only got 3 runs in from 630 to almost 11PM. I tossed the 16" stock 5 spoke wheels with MT DRs (255/50) on the car, drove to work and then hit the track. Car had zero weight reduction and I even had my laptop, some tools and a change of clothing in the trunk. Car weighed 4200lbs with me in it. The car is a full weight convertible with complete Procharger system, Kenny Brown DD subframe connectors, 6 pt wolfe bar, upgraded speakers/amp, S60, etc etc.

IATs crept to the mid 90s while waiting to run. I normally only see a few degrees above ambient cruising but it will creep up in stop and go traffic.

First run I bogged thinking the track wouldn't really hook for a test and tune night. I matted the throttle and it pulled the car out the bog which led to a 10.9 @133 run with a fantastic 1.93 60'. 1/8 mile mph was in the 103 range. The audio isn't sync'd with the video for some reason. I tried it on two different computers and same result.

The second run was similar to the first but I spun rather than bogged to a 2.0 60'. I briefly jumped out of the throttle and got back in it to run a 11.0 @133. 1/8th mile MPH was 105 which was a new best.

The third and final run was versus a Gen 2 CTSV. I lowered the tire pressure but no dice on the launch. Spun harder this time and had to jump out of the throttle to gain traction. Worst ET of the night but best MPH at 135. Car was the liking the cooler night air.

Overall I had a great time driving to the track, racing and headed home with a 10 sec times slip. Better air, less idling in the lanes, and using my drag setup coupled with a better launch will all result in more mph and much quicker ETs. I'm organizing a 3rd annual track rental for the NJFBOA this winter and I fully intend on setting a new best.

Your car is like a starburst.

Love the sound of that Procharger. When ya get that 60ft' dialed in, you'll be golden.

When he gets those wheel studs dialed back to straight, he will def be golden.

It is an interesting contradiction.

Thanks! It is pretty addicting and the open bypass valve certainly exaggerates the noise. The car is still tricky to launch. There seems to be a very small window for it to do what it needs to do but I will keep at it.

Indeed. For those not aware, it turns out I bent the 1/2" studs running acorn lugs and the stock 16" wheels. Seems I may have to just run the car with shanks from now on to avoid the issue. I bent the smaller studs that came with the S60 using acorns on borrowed CCWs but everything held strong at the rental using shanks with the 1/2" units.

Haha. Perhaps if my audio was synced in the first video, I would have received more replies. I'm just having some fun with the car and thought I would share it with the LT1 community.

LT car will stay a LT car. Not to say there wouldn't be more potential going LS but I'm happy what the car does the way it sits.

For the record, my original opti never failed. :)
