Default Lt1 low on power, running rich, has gas in oil help???

Hi I just bought a 94 trans am lt1 for a fun street strip car, it has stock ported heads, cc306, 37lb racetronix injectors, and full bolt ons, 3000 stall ,3.73 gears, and a tune. I took it to the track and it only ran a best of 13.3 at 108 mph. I feel its very low on power there is gas in the oil and has trouble starting have to give it gas for a minute to warm up or it will cut off. what could be my problem. im thinking maybe a bad fpr? any thoughs

If there is gas in the oil stop driving it before you destroy the motor!

Fuel in oil = WAY to much fuel, other will have to post up about other things as I'm at work and can't get on my normal sites. I'm sure shoebox will chime in and post it all, his website is the best.

yeah im not gonna drive it anymore until I get it fixed. I was wondering if the injectors could be too large for the motor even though it is tuned for them most people with the same mods run around a 30lb injector, is this possible not enough air coming in?

Its a fuel issue you have, air is not the problem.

If I has to guess I was say you have way to much injector and the tune is also way off, but I have no first hand experience with injectors so I can't give you a stright answer.

A few of the gurus should chime in soon and set the record straight. I just wanted to make sure you knew not to run it anymore, dont want you to total it

Could I lower the fuel pressure with an afpr, and if so what psi could I lower it to safely, as these injectors flow 37lb at 43.5 psi.

When I was getting gas in my oil it turned out to be a cam bearing. I had the same problems you had once the car warmed up and the oil thinned out.

I sure hope that's not the problem as car seems to drive fine just runs really rich and has lack of power. It does have a check engine light on I ordered a cheap obd1 scanner off of ebay hopefully I can find a code that will lead me to the culprit.

Just use paper clip. Short out a b terminals in aldl. Count flashes of engine light. Might be maf 02s coolant temp map.

1. buy a FP gauge and check pressure. Your FPR could be bad and allowing to much fuel
2. you know for a fact the tune included the larger injectors? who is the tuner?
3. you have a CEL, find out what the code is. suspect it is 02's saying rich
4. confirm you have no intake or exhaust manifods leaks pre 02 sensors

if you have fuel in oil you can be washing down cyl walls and serious engine damage can or has resulted.

37 lb injectors are on the large side for your build but a "good" tune and correct FP should be OK.

Might want to consider checking the injectors to confirm one or more are not leaking fuel. There are rebuild places that charge around $10+ per injector

i'm running 36lb/hr injectors on my build fyi. No fuel in oil although she does run rich. Car also stays running without any gas feathering. so i wouldn't say its injector size so much but an actual issue with an injector maybe, possibly leaking or an exhaust leak calling for more fuel than needed.

Could be a stuck injector.

Throw a gauge on it and turn the key to ACC without starting it. FP should build up and stay for a while. If pressure drops down quickly, then an injector is stuck open (unless you messed with the fuel pump and the check valve is messed up).

When you do the fuel pressure test Puck mentioned you should also pull the vacuum hose off the fuel pressure regulator to insure fuel doesn't come out the hose nipple on the regulator.
