Rarest of the rare (?) LT1/LT4 4th Gen F-body on Ebay
Beautiful car, but $87.5K?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-Pontiac-FIREHAWK-LT-4-Stage-3-1LE-lt-ULTRA-RARE-1-OF-3-EVER-MADE-gt-/161372278607?_trksid=p2054897.l4275
Not my car, don't know the person selling, just sharing.

Well it is definitely collectible, but only a retard would pony up $87k or anything like that to own it. Advertising 330 hp on your hood these days is kind of irrelevant, too. However, having said that, it only takes one sucker, and the owner who paid $30k or whatever for it and never drove it is probably hoping to get someone to offer at least more than that and unload it.

The price is nuts but damn - its basically a brand new factory LT4 Firehawk.
I wouldn't be surprised if its the only one in the world in decent condition - let alone like new. Sounds like it has mods on it though, which makes NO sense...unless he was talking about the factory parts being factory performance (manifolds, exhaust, driveshaft, flywheel).

So did this idiot buy this car and jerk off for the last 17 years in thinking he was going to make a profit? These are the dolts you see on forums claiming how the fourth gen. f-body will one day be valuable. And, because it reads like it's modified, and there are no pics of the engine? I wouldn't pay more than fair market value.
I don't see anything about them being stainless. Just see they are extrude honed, which SLP did offer for a very short time at least in 1996. In my original brochure it had that option, but when I called them to complain that mine hadn't been done they said it was far too much work and the cost didn't justify the means. Makes me think this dude is completely full of **** being the car is a '97. Didn't Firehawk cars also get 2OTL?

Yeah, I noticed a lack of the most important pics, the engine. "This car is producing significantly more power than the 330hp rating" You'd think they'd showcase it.
And here's the stainless manifolds stuff and a mention of dual exhaust tips:

I don't know the difference between the f-body exhaust versus the 'Vette exhaust, or which one is better, but I bet they are close.

I seem to remember that SLP was showing them on their parts store site, a LONG time ago. They supposedly were better flowing parts, compared to the OE manifolds. Better flow than manifolds without the potential longevity issues of headers. Kind of sorry I didn't buy a pair, but if my memory is anywhere near correct, they were around $300 for the pair, and I didn't have the extra $$ floating around at that time.

Most '96 Grand Sport 'Vette's dyno around 295-305 at the wheels. That would put the engine closer to 355-360. There's a registry where the owner can post up there dyno sheets.

I agree though, stock flywheel was probably closer to the LS1 at 350-365hp. The LT1 was rated at 275-305 depending on vehicle and it's dyno numbers put it closer to 305-335 flywheel. I still think GM underrates their horsepower to this day, but not as much as they used to with the adoption of SAE standardized advertised horsepower.

Hell, with our increasing rate of currency inflation, un-paralleled government spending and borrowing, we may have eggs that cost more than that in less than 5 years..... during hyperinflation in Germany post WWI 1 egg exceeded 1 billion marks (previous to hyper inflation a dozen egg was 3 mark).
Sorry off topic.
Agreed, $87K is ridiculous at this point in time and economy.

Get one like that in 40 years... Maybe less time with inflation...
