Default 2015 LTx Shootout is going back to Bowling Green, KY

The 2015 LTx Shootout on September 5th will be going back to Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, KY. This will be the 8th straight year for this event and we are looking to make it the biggest one yet. From a bone stock LT1 to the Outlaw cars knocking on the door of 7 second time slips, there is a class for you. LTx Shootout info, class rules, and hotel info can be found at www.ltxshootout.com (we are in the process of making the website more user and mobile friendly) or check us out on Facebook.

If you own and LTx this is the race/event to put on your schedule. It is always a great time with an amazing community of LTx enthusiasts and some great LTx racing.

Keep an eye out for updates on the website or Facebook.

Same weekend as the U.S. Nationals at Indy. Again! Guess I'll miss it again. Thought I would get to run it at least once. :-(

BG is only 3 hours from Indy. Do both! The shootout is typically done by 4pm, and eliminations start around noon.

I have made the divisional points race there the weekend before Indy, then tow on to Indy. Always a large field of SS cars doing that. Something going on each day at Indy. Don't see how to run both. My NHRA SS engine probably wouldn't (shouldn't) be fast enough anyway.

I would like to know if they will do anything to the surface before spending money to go there. Last time there the track was dangerous and they could give 2 *****.

I asked the track guys at BG in 2012 about what it costs to prep. I remember it being some crazy amount like $1000-$1200 PER LANE or something like that. Apparently VHT must be really expensive. Unless I miss-heard the guy.

That's why the conditions there are always horrible. Sorry gents but I will not be going. It does not cost that much plus the bad *** tracks are using a different compound now. BG had the LS fest the week after the LTX race 2 years ago and the track still sucked. I'm sure they took in enough cash to prep the lanes that weekend.

AFAIK The track prep is not that high. We are looking into the options at the track and will be doing everything we can to make sure the track has a good safe surface that weekend. We have discussed this with the track and it is a top priority.

Well The same guy isnt over beech bend anymore. Dallas Jones(the owner) died last year so im sure there is someone else running the track. He was a ***** to work with, especially tring to rent the track for an event. We rented the track one year and he double booked it, Shity prep and on top of that had to pay upfront before he unlockled the gate. So things may be diffrent than they used to be

When Dallas had it, it always sucked unless you were some BIG name race like NMCA or NMRA. My wife ran her Impala there once. When the nitrous hit she about lost it. My stock Z28 with a 150 shot & DR's would break traction. That was it. We stuck to the local 1/8th mi tracks.

We might go this year to watch again. BG is only 45 min away. Besides, she might have her LSx in by then and not be eligible.

Ya stefan had to take a ton of power out of the car and pedal it and if I remember right hurt the motor at bowling green because of the peddling. .. Also Carlos car was all over and I can't remember if mike Harveys car or the Sonoma had hooking issue's but the prep sucked. ..

I really hope that the prep issue can be resolved cause I really want to see the heavy hitters come out to play. .. like I said if money is an issue someone needs to start a thread on Ltx about a donation and I'll be the first to put a few hundred down cause I certainly don't want to spend over a grand in diesel hotel food to have my little radial car having hooking problems

Guys it's not all just prep when it's high 90's or 100 like 2013 it's hard as hell to get one of these cars to hook. That time of year in Bowling Green is always hot as hell and the track gets really slick.
