Default Fuel Line Relocation Mod Question(s)

I am planning to tackle this little project shortly, but I want to make sure I have all the bases covered before I start. I am using the following threads as a guide:
http://http://www.camaroz28.com/foru...on-mod-677389/

http://http://diysrc.com/factory-fue...camaro-firebird/

http://http://www.ls1lt1.com/forum/l...line-relo.html

, but they leave me with a few questions. First, when I take the inner wheel well plastic out is there a way to reuse the little plastic push pins? Is there a trick to getting them out/re-installing them? Second, I know that since my car is a 1994, I'll have to reroute the line for the evap somewhere. They say that they routed it "behind the intake manifold". Is there a specific way that it should be routed behind the intake? Also, would anyone happen to know the size of the fuel line that I will need to buy for the evap line? Thanks!

1. You can buy those push pins for pennies at any parts store.

2. Anywhere behind the intake should be fine, just keep it away from excessive heat.

3. I believe it's a 1/4" I.D. hose.

I did the relocation over the weekend (I'll post up some pics this afternoon or wednesday afternoon), but I ran into an issue. Originally, i was going to drill three 1/2" holes like a couple of the people in one of those threads did. I soon relized after i had drilled the first 1/2" hole that the fitting on the end of the fuel line won't fit through a 1/2" hole! As a result, i wound up drilling one big hole (about 1" i think). This left me with another issue... I don't have a grommet that big (right now there is a piece of hose around it). To those of you that only drilled one hole, what size grommet did you use, and where did you find a grommet that big?! I cant find one.

I'm interested in knowing how it all goes, I hate how the lines are way longer than they should have been.....

Oh, too bad I didn't catch you before you drilled the big hole. I drilled 3 individual holes and ran into the same problem, the fittings would not fit through the grommet. My solution was to slip the grommet over the fitting, then slide the line through the hole and work the grommet into the groove.

Sorry I've taken so long, I've been very busy lately! But here are the before and after pics!

Before:

After: (excuse my ghetto grommet... its temporary until I find a bigger one lmfao)

Eventually, I would like to do the "wire mod" on the other side too!

So doing this, do you just shorten up the stock hoses? I deleted my evap so I guess I would have one less item to worry about.

I've also wanted to do the wire tuck for years. When people clean up these engine bays they look so good. Just the extra long fuel lines make things look so cluttered.

I did not shorten the lines at all. From what i've gathered, it is a huge pain to get the fitting back onto the line after you cut it. I just looped them in a big loop (as small as i could without kinking them) in the inner fender well. When i looped them, i zip tied the loop every few inches or so and they seem to be secured very well.
