Default Alternator not charging

I guess I have an electrical issue with my 94 z28. the alternator which is brand new charged for a little then just stopped charging. battery is good and alternator has been tested at multiple parts stores. I attempted to jump the 'exciter' wire with a 12 volt power source because it is only seeing around 10v and still nothing

Probably a dud alternator, if they're going to crap out, it's usually pretty quick. Try swapping in another

it is a lifetime warranty one and I can't get a new one while it still tests good. is there a brand that people have good success with?

Try something for ***** and giggles, get a jumper cable and go from battery ground post to alternator case. Then start car and see what happens.

My general idea about stores testing alternators and batteries is that they clearly just dont work. Take the alternator back out. Carry it to the store and have them swap it out. Raise hell and make them give you a new one. I get bad parts all the time. My shop uses about 15K in parts a month and I get bad new parts ALL THE TIME. Just need to get another one
