Default Cam Sync Distr?

Anyone know if this MSD cam sync distributor can be used in place of the optispark, with the factory pcm?

No. The sync dist is made for aftermarket controllers that sync with cyl #1 at TDC. Our opti dist produces a different signal that identifies with each different cyl. Stock PCM is looking to read something entirely different. Sorry for the bad news but u would need an aftermarket controller for that sync dist.

Yea ya know aftermarket controls are getting cheaper but u still need our PCM for the other control functions like the trans and air conditioning and whatever maybe even gauges and odometer. Tempting to install a more traditional dist and controller but it would have to run piggyback with the stock PCM and your asking for bigger headaches than to deal with the opti and its problems by itself.

But if u have found someone that has done this im interested too.

Why would you want to run the factory PCM if you're going to be using a conventional distributor? You're much better off running the Vortec 4x system or 24x if you have the right intake and chassis space for a real dizzy.
