Timing, CC503, stock cubes, ported heads
Just wondering where people are at for all in timing with the CC503, stock cubes, ported heads.
Scratching my head here as my tune is at 30. Maybe the tuner was worried about the injectors? Whole time at WOT car is at 12.62 on the wideband, from 6000-6500 RPM I am at around 80-82.5% duty cycle with the 30 LB. red tops.
Thoughts?? I don't plan on winding this thing out for long periods of time, should I be able to get away with more fuel/timing??
Just wondering what other people with the same general mods are around, I've heard 36-38 is the norm for timing.

I have a project motor, stock C.I. LT1, home ported stock heads (no flow numbers) CC503 blah blah blah, you get it. I run 38* of timing but I haven't had the engine in the car yet.... Still playing with the advanced curve... So far at 38* my motor safely makes it's peak power with 12.6 AFR. LT1 PCMs add 2-4 degrees of what's in the spark table. Keep this in mind. Is this the new 24x car you picked up for free?

I tune my car now, because it's only a bolt on motor, however I took my built mildish street 503
motor to my friend Nathan a few counties away, I never knew the whole 2-4* in the spark tables deal either until he informed me of it. I trust him with LT1's it was his first car and he still drives it
to this day, it's built now of course lol.... He specializes mainly in LT1/LT4 tuning but he does anything LS as well.
