LTX aftermarket block round 2?
I am on the group LT1 Nation on facebook. In the group, there was mention of getting pre-sales together to try and get the ball rolling "again" on another aftermarket block. So I will paste below the initial facebook post:
"Ok Tommy and I (mostly Tommy) have been working on this deal with a aftermarket LTX block from World. It will be in the $1900-2200 range I NEED to know how many people are willing to buy a block right this second. Basically we're trying to get committed buyers for a pre-sale. Who would be willing to buy one meaning call me with a CC or paypal the funds to my business as a invoiced sale. This is a very serious post and all non related comments will be deleted Thanks"
The two parties mainly involved is a guy named Tommy Roberts and Owen Buchanan. Both are very good, helpful and knowledgeable people when it comes to the LT1 platform.
I am just passing along the info as I know a lot of people here may not be in the facebook group or on facebook at all.
Details on the block-
There are a ton of unanswered questions at this point as this is a process and may take time. The block will be made by World Products. The bore will be a 4.115 as cast setup.
There is also talk that if "We" get enough pre-sales, they would put the block into production. The magic number is in the neighborhood of "50" pre-sales(maybe). Tommy has a block that is already at the foundry at World Products. I know Stefan Destito and Tony Shepherd have already committed along with others. The block will be similar to this:
http://m.summitracing.com/parts/wrl-...FQymaQodascLRA
Again, I am just passing along the info as I do not know all the details. So if you are interested in doing a pre-sale contact Owen @ Top Notch Auto & More (815-526-3626):

If the deal falls through, all people who invested in the pre-sale will get 100% refunded........
I'm kinda excited that this may come to light...

Best of luck to them and it would be neat to see it happen. If they need 50 folks at ~$2k to give it the green light, I'm not sure I see it happening. The known serious guys are willing to drop the coin for obvious reasons but are there 48 or so other LTX guys with bigger builds still around?

I doubt there are many other big build LT1 guys around. I think thats the big problem. Besides Jeff Green (Guy with the billet LT1 block) I dont see many people committing. I would love too, but Im not at the point where I can push my LT1 block to the limit, so I couldnt just drop to coin to make this happen. Maybe if my finances changes, I'd consider it, but not now, for me....

After what Dart did to us, I would need to see an actual company rep chime in with specifics before sending ~$2k to a business for something that doesn't exist. I'm still sour about the last time - I had cash in hand ready to buy and Dart flaked out.
Now is a different time for me, so the timing no longer matches up. I am getting married this month, moving next month, and wont realistically have spending money on a project for at least a few months. Everything was put on hold - a brand new built trans, thousands in engine parts, and all sorts of things collected over the years are sitting in boxes right now on "pause".

Tommy and I are working on official written confirmation if we get enough presales they will produce the block
Correct me if I'm wrong would this make you guys believe this is for real. I'm planning on buying atleast 2 if I need to buy a third, I'm going to.
I have a tube chassis pro mod Chevy II that is begging for a 2000+hp LTX motor

Is there a time frame??? My pile of 396 parts would be even better with a 4.125 bore Done feel bad Puck I have a Corner Full O Parts too LoL I started on a Trans Am build & found the frame crunched a little worse than I thought & if its not straight Im not bettin My Life on it SO I stuck all the Dart , Callies & Howards type stuff in the corner & built a Solid Axle 4x4 S10 with left over LT1 parts
Anyway I need a time frame & more info but 99.9 % down for 1 !!!

TOP NOTCH AUTO & MORE,
You are going to have to spend money to make money. It's not fair to ask your customer base to fund this project when you initially have nothing to show for it other than an internet promise. Too many members in years past have been fucked over by this very tactic.
Won't be long meow. Your cinderblock special and all the parts along with it will be going BU-BYE!
