It all started with a, "Honey, you want to go for a quick spin around the block?"

So the car had been sitting for a couple of years, and after a couple of Beam-n-Cokes, I decided to fire the ol' girl up. She ran pretty good, sooo...well..you know what happens next. Take it for a quick spin - #1 mistake. Take it to 6000 in 2nd gear - #2 mistake. Supercharger + old fuel =

But to be honest, it was the most damn liberating feeling!!! I had a dozen good years with the previous combo, and was just bored with it. Can't wait to go faster. :D

And she ended up here...

First time the engine has been out of the car...

Couple Beam-n-Cokes don't generally go well with "taking the old girl for a spin". With that said, I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in store. If the beans are still cooking, I'd be willing to bet there's a shit ton of hot sauce up in that mix.

Jon@BruteSpeed Feb 10, 2016 02:27 PM

Well shit.... I think something is missing

It never ceases to amaze me at just how clean that engine is. Bob

I bet that made one hell of a racket when it let go!

And it just hit 6000 miles. That factory engine was a good test bed for EPP & Brutespeed.

It did, but only for a second. The piston exploded and pieces blew through the pan right next to the starter. In fact, it cracked the starter case. An engine diaper will be installed on this build. I was lucky the oil down didn't get to the rear tires.

Hot damn, can't wait to see the end result. I know there won't be any corners cut and the finished product will be great.

Nickster 7 Feb 10, 2016 07:47 PM

Wow, that's awesome that you only have 6,000 miles on that car! I'll check back for this build often. Wonder what other super low mileage LT1 F bodies are still around...
