Default Deleting Thermostat on LT1

Race only only with electric water pump. Runs on methanol so almost don't even need water with how much cooler it runs lol. Can't run a thermostat as is with this water neck(would have to machine the inside to fit one). I've heard that you can't just pull them out and run as is because the coolant doesn't flow correctly, and if I'm not mistaken all that needs to be done is plug off the hole where the bottom part of thermostat seals. Just wanted confirmation on this and wanted to know what best way of blocking said port off is? Thanks

Anybody know? I mean if I have to machine the water neck I'll do what I have to... But was really hoping it's just simply blocking of that bottom port.

Blocking the port would be fine to mimic an open thermostat (if that is ok for you).

I agree that's the way to do without the theromstat.

I cut a circle out of sheet aluminum that sort of fit the recess where the bottom of the thermostat seals.

Drilled and tapeped two 10-24 holes opposite each other through the sheet and into the casting to mechanically hold it in place with screws, and sealed it with RTV.

You can also buy an AC Delco water pump for a 92 (only) Corvette and the only pipe sticking out of it is the smaller upper one.

Just had it off and apart to clean it, wish I had seen yours before I put it back together and bolted on because that definetly looks much better plugged off like that..
