Swapping an LS1 into a 97 TA
I'm thinking about swapping an LS1 into my 97 Trans Am. At this point I know nothing about what is involved. Are there any good primers or overviews on the process, what parts/accessories I'll need, etc. Any good writeups? Should I be asking this on the LS1 board? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave M

Thanks for your opinion, but I don't want a 98+ or I would buy one. I'm open to just rebuilding the LT1 but if I was taking it out anyway I thought an LS1 would be advantageous.

Get a 98+ and swap the old front on it lol.. But seriously you'd need LS1 k member, wire harness, and pcm.. Might have to do some re pinning and some creative construction also.. I think they might have a plug and play harness out there somewhere but I forgot who sells it..
