Take a look at this lifter, please I just installed these LSx lifters in my LT1 about 300 miles ago. Along with a new cam. I pulled them out chasing a lifter tick, and they all looked great with the exception of this one:
The grooves in it are not that bad, but you can feel them with a fingernail. I checked the corresponding cam journal and its perfect, as are all the rest of them.
I've got a new lifter that I'm putting in, but was wondering what would cause this. I used the original dogbones and bone-holder. I suspect it was some debris that got caught between the lifter and the cam.
What do you think?

Perhaps a high spot on the cam lobe. Keep an eye on the new lifter as well. The last thing you want is hardened steal to have its way on the inside of your motor. Gets expensive quick.
