Default Mitsubishi opti sensors screws

As seen in my pic, i have my original opti from my 96z28 stripped down to the sensor. Can you tell me what size these screws are?? I was thinking of installing the Mitsubishi sensor in my new skip white optispark. Will this work? My original opti bearing is shot so i needed a new opti. Skip opti white is cheap but has a good track record.

I would think you could either use the screws from the donor opti....or the ones that come with the Skip White one

size, IDK.

Pull them out and get a thread gauge. Either reuse them or source new ones.

If it were me I would probably try running the skip white one as is if it is new. Those timing discs are pretty flimsy and delicate and the screws in the opti tend to break off pretty easy. I know the Mits sensors are the best but it would suck to screw up a brand new opti. If the new opti turns out to be bad it's not too big of a deal to pull the water pump off to swap it out at that point. If it ain't knowingly broke don't fix it??

Those are actually Torx head screws. I disassembled an Opti about 10-12 years ago, for cleaning and cap/rotor replacement. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly what socket I used, but I think it's a T6 or T8 FEMALE socket. They're not easy to source, but I think Snap On has them.

I use the tool (pic) that came with my MSD C&R kit to remove the cap, or you can easily make one yourself if you can't find the torx socket size, and then use a Torx female 1/4" drive socket to remove the sensor. I got a cheap Torx socket set at Harbor Freight that had the size for the sensor torx screws

Got the Mitsubishi sensor off, its in great shape. Guess i will keep it for later use! It was a torx E6 socket that fit the sensor screws, got them at my local napa auto parts. I figure with the timing disc being so sensitive i should just run the skip white opti as is so it doesnt get bent. Just put some rtv around the seals and loctite the rotor screws. Im sure this original Mitsubishi sensor will come in handy in the future. Check out my pics, pretty clean inside for a 20yr old opti.

Actually said screw it and just installed the Mitsubishi sensor on my skip white. Optical disc between the two are exactly the same interestingly, even the same # stamped on them. Should give some peace of mind. Might try and slap my msd cap and rotor on too! Lol, i will have a skip white back of opti and bearing, ac delco Mitsubishi sensor, and msd cap n rotor.....should be good!
