Default 1.7 RRers

I have been doing some research and have decided in my up and coming MAX effort bolt on lt1 car i want to do 1.7 roller rockers. I have chosen scorpion 7/16 1.7 NSA RRers. My question is can someone link me the rest of parts I need? Like the correct guide plates, pushrods, etc??? Also this car will NEVER be cammed so whats the best cheap spring for just Roller rocker upgrades?

Lunati spring kit will work, id use isky guide plates and arp screw rocker studs. Wouldnt hurt to upgrade pushrods either

the Crane 10308-1 spring kit would be a plug & play good replacement spring

trick Flow .080 thick wall PR. Likely 7.200 length but confirm your length first with the 1:7 rr

I like the ISKY adjustable guide plates for the LT1 heads

How can I check if the 7.2 is correct length until I'm already doing the job? Just buy multiple lengths? Then return what I don't use?

buy a adjustable PR check tool

your stock length of 7.200 are likely fine with just a RR swap

I'm running scorpion 1.7

ARP-134-7103 arp 7/16 studs
TFS-30400623 guide plates
Pac 1212x springs.
factory hardened pushrods.

had to grind the slot deeper in the guideplates

the geometry with the 1.7 rockers move the pushrod closer to the rocker stud. The slots are not deep enough and will chew up pushrods in short order.
I believe that most that have run the 1.7 rockers have experienced the same thing.
I really liked the power boost I got from 1.7 rockers on the factory cam. Just triple check everything and you should be ok.

Use a grinding bit on a Dremal......

99% of people who do put larger ratio RR on a SBC do 1:6. 1:7 can require the PR path to be closer to the RR stud than the guide plate slot will allow so you would need to grind that down some.....but not so much that now the head opening for the PR is now the point of contact with the PR

IDK how much HP 1:7 RR would provide a stock motor over 1:6, if any, but if some I doubt much....although this guy claims 10hp more than 1:6...YMMV https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...k-lt1-cam.html

Do not grind guide plate while it is installed or you will introduce metal shavings into the head and or block. Your going to need to grind, test, grind, test fit, repeat as needed.

or just get 1:6 RR, preferably Comp Ultra Pro Mag
