Airbag steering wheel or not?
So I some how managed to break the inner metsl
core on my steering wheel on one side last year before I parked the car. It's taped and glued together at the moment.
Part of me wants to change to an aftermarket wheel and ditch the stock wheel, the other part says to keep the air bag.
Whats everyone's thoughts ?

My car is 80% track and 20% street. I have done almost 90% weight reduction to the car with the exception of driver air bag. There are too many what ifs and way too many idiot drivers out there. My car does not have a cage, so until I have a cage and a 5 point harness I will not remove my stock wheel/air bag or door bars. Its always better safe than sorry!

okay, I was mostly joking, I do agree it depends on what the intended use of the car is. for me, it is a 100% street car (for now) but is built as a corner carver and for that, the stock wheel sucks. it is too big and flimsy and feels disconnected from the front wheels. replacing the stock wheel with a smaller, more grippy wheel was one of the best handling mods I have done to my car. cage and harnesses are coming soon to keep my dome away from the wheel should something happen

Well i like the safety aspect, but as said, the stock wheel is atrocious.
With the car being built the way it is as well I can't see it being very forgiving in a front end collision
