Valvetrain refresh + cam recommendations?
If I plan on buying an LT4 cam, I imagine I'll have to upgrade my valve train. What do you guys suggest for a daily driver?
I'm not wanting 400 trillion horsepower or anything. Just something that will net me 20-25HP over the stock cam and v train.

the Crane 10308-1 spring kit would work well with the Hot Cam
...the Hot cam is not a bad cam, just cam design has advanced since that 20 year old grind.
Lloyd Elliott would be a good source for a custom grind cam which would perform better for a DD.

One thing nice about the Hotcam: It's super gentle on the valvetrain. Go with that 10308 kit that ****** recommended, set things up right, and you'll have factory-like durability.
If you have a line on a good deal on the Hotcam, go for it. Degree it and install at 106 ICL with an offset bushing kit, and you'll have none of the "lack of low end" complaints you hear about it.
If you have to pay new price for the Hotcam, I'd pass and get a mild custom grind from LLoyd for about the same price and save yourself the trouble of having to degree it at installation.
