It's pretty cool to see everyone opinions. I personally love being thrown back in the seat. When I was driving my car I thought it was fast enough and it was pretty stock. I'm pretty excited to see/feel the difference once the car is put back together.

For me, any kind of HP that you don't have to constantly maintain is fun. My car is a blast right now because I haven't had to to jack squat to it since the rebuild. If I have to start messing around with it constantly it won't be fun no more.

The other thing to toss in the mix is how much you value your license, punching a 10sec car versus a 12 sec car is a lot different. You might exceed the speed limit much faster than you intended
I drive my car once or twice a month to work when its nice but I never really open it up short of blasts to 80 or so. Car still manages to scare me so thats always good.

My car is a border line 10sec car and let me tell ya, on street tires its very scary when punching it from a stand still (or anything 30mph and under).. I had to put some Nitto drag radials on the car to kind of calm it down some.. Nitto drags are a nice medium between street and a real drag radial imo..

Tried to use this line on the wife when she wasn't too happy about me wanting to do heads/cam on a car barely a year old. Tried telling her that races would be over much quicker and wouldn't have to get into dangerous crazy speeds. She didn't buy it, not one bit.

Honestly, maybe it was because I was younger, but I had the most fun back in the day with my 95z28 M6 heads/cam 3.73’s and dr’s (383rwhp/353rwtq).
P.S. shooting for 875-900rwhp @ 16psi on stock LS3 shortblock with current car (already made 817rwhp with slipping clutch).

Spinning isn't winning...BRO
At that point you might as well drive a jacked up Dodge 3500 with 18" chrome blingy wheels with street tires on it being a mall crawler...useless as **** on a bull.
According to you I should throw old tires on 16" wheels on the back of my 300hp Z28 and spin them all over the street.

I make 414whp right now with my low CR 383 and I'm pretty comfortable with it. Power is super linear being that the torque curve is more of a flat line. I used to roll around on 315 Toyo radials but switched to 295 streets a few months back, now the car is super lively. 1st gear is totally useless, it often breaks loose after the 1-2 shift, and hooking in 2nd depends on the surface or how quick I'm on the throttle. The Toyos never gave me traction issues (except launching M6 and 1st gear bursts), but they fit like **** and were terrifying in the rain.
It's fun as hell to drive as it sits, even with street tires. I'm afraid that any more than this is going to be completely useless on the street because of how inconsistent roads are. Too late for doubts though, I've already set up for more lol.

Street tires with more HP is simply a show off game. (not calling you out Catmaigne btw)
I would much rather run be 400hp with a good set of tires than 500hp on generic street tires. This is coming from someone that thinks ANY form of street racing is very stupid not to mention I don't care to ever drag race.
This applies to autocross or road racing...good tires with 400 hp vs 500 with shitty tires.

Perfect example of what's considered "fun". I see that as useless to be able to blow tires off a car. I would enjoy that for a week then it would get annoying since I can't hook and then it's not fun anymore.
