Need to change timing chain cover gasket question on oil pan
I bought a 95 z28 that was pretty much done up. Looks like it's leaking by timing chain cover. Question I know you have to drop pan to do this job but could I just loosen up bolts on oil pan just enough to drop to chain timing chain gasket????? Has a canton oil pan with tubular k member. Also oil pan has a blue felpro 1 piece seal.. if I did do it this way and loosen the oil pan would I need to replace blue gasket on the oil pan????

The blue FelPro pan gasket can be re-used....but you should clean off any RTV from gasket/pan/block that may be on and wipe with acetone then use new RTV.
I would confirm the leak is in fact from pan as it could be oil migrating down to lowest point.

...others have reported seal issues with the Canton unless a full bead of RTV was used all around the pan. Otherwise confirm that one of the TC seals is not the source of the leak...which is more common
The WP drive seal is the seal that typically leaks. Opti rarely and Crank almost never
