Default Discontinued AC Delete Pulley

it looks like the GM part is discontinued and pretty hard to find (at least in my last couple hours of searching). I've also read the Dorman is junk.

Is there any harm in just leaving the condenser there and unhooking everything? Other than weight, there isn't really any difference between the condenser spinning freely and the delete pulley is there?

No problem at all. I did that for years on my '85 Camaro.

Does your A/C still work? If it does, I'll gladly trade you my pulley for it.

Do I need to unplug or plug anything with it?

I saw the one on hawk motorsports. That looks pretty cheap, tho, so I'm worried it's the same as the Dorman. Spose I'll call them monday.

As for trading it, AC hasn't worked in years. I honestly don't know what the issue is because I never bothered to check. Condenser may very well be in great shape but I can't 100% guarantee that for you unfortunately, unless you know how I would go about testing it. I always assumed I was just out of freon because I bent most of the piping in frustration while trying to get to other things

IDK if the Hawks is a re-packaged Doorman. IMHO I would have no issue using the Doorman version or whatever one is cheaper.

Unless you are removing all the components involved with the AC system there really is no performance gain with the delete pulley vs a non "on" AC compressor other than weight savings...which if building a primarily race car one would want

As mentioned the AC compressor is basically just a idler pulley until the AC is turned on engaging the clutch

Welp, everything is out but the compressor now. I may just leave it as is. I've pulled every single hvac and emissions related hose out. That was a messy process and im exhausted. Can someone verify this for me? I now have items 1 and 3 exposed and I'll ned to plug them.
1. I cut off the right hoses, right?
2. I bought that dayco heater hose that is suggested on here (#87629). But that does not look remotely to be the right shape to plug these two ports together. Am I missing something?

I would just buy a length of generic heater hose at whatever size that is and loop 1 and 3.

It's 3/4 and 5/8" so I got the reducer. I was going to figure out the shape I need to avoid everything neatly and then dig up some hoses from the parts store to build it.

You should be able to stretch a 5/8" hose over a 3/4" fitting.

I bought the Dorman delete pulley. Well documented that you need to drill out the holes on the bracket and play with shims to get it to line up right. Reuse stock AC compressor mounting bolts.

I can't speak to durability of the bearing used but so far so good. It's pretty pretty straight forward. I just put in on maybe 100mi ago. It will get a work out this autocross season.
