Default Any Kooks LT and Canton oil pan owners here?

Can anyone confirm (or deny) that you need to delete the low oil level sending unit with Kooks and a Canton pan?

Specifically the 1 3/4 (non-stepped) Kooks and Canton 242T?

No you can't use the low oil level sending unit, I even had to grind the plug that Canton provides with the pan

Ditto, can't use the oil level sensor. I made a shorting plug to keep the light off. I didn't have to do any grinding to the Canton plug, but I don't have the Canton pan, I have the Moroso pan. It was very close....

I used a staple out of a staple gun.

I actually found your post with a Google search and is why I asked here. Couldn't find any confirmation about the canton so made a post. Guess I'll be getting a new set of pacesetters and coating them

People survived without an oil level sensor for decades. I haven't had one on the car since it was new. Just get in the habit of checking your oil and you'll be golden.

I would, but my builder or machinist was an idiot and made it so the dipstick won't fit past the main cap. Believe me, next time I need a rebuild it will have a dipstick. I was livid and tried to even grind down a dipstick and get it to fit. I had to grind it down so much it broke and I had to fish it out of the oil pan with a magnet.

Did you grind the tube or the actual dipstick? That's a common problem if going with aftermarket caps or 4-bolt. IIRC I had to grind about a 1/2" off the tube and strategically bend it to get it to fit.
