Default can 1994 4L60E transmission be made to work with a 2004 PCM?

I am doing a rest/mod on a 51 Chevy 2dr sadan. I purchased from an individual a 2004 5.3 LS engine out of a Silverado (including PCM and wiring harness) along with a 1994 4L60E transmission (don't know what it came out of) and the front end out of a 1981 Camero. I have worked through the fitment issues of the transmission to engine but I'm hung up on if the 2004 PCM will work (with programming and wiring modification) with the 1994 4L60E. I know that the 1994 transmission doesn't have a PWM and most answers say it can't be done but I did find one answer where someone has done it: "I have a 94' Z28 and have a 96 OBDII PCM in charge.. And it operates everything flawlessly.. Even better than the 94' PCM with the stall wall issues.. Just gonna need a tuner to tune it before you operate it.." Can anyone else provide some in site to this problem?
