Default LT1 iron cylinder block bores resleeving?

Hello,

Can the LT1 iron cylinder block bores be sleeved after the cylinder block had been overbored many times?

I mean installing new iron sleeves liners in iron cylinder blocks as can be done to aluminum cylinder block?

Thanks for help.

Sure, but youd probably be better off getting a new block

Sleeving a block is serious business. They all have to be dead nuts on, and doing so is extremely expensive. Far more than the block is worth, but in your case, since resources are limited it may be your only option? Look for another LT1 block before doing this if you haven't already. If you can't find one then make sure the shop you use to sleeve the block knows what they're doing.

You can buy used LT1 blocks for 300 bux on craigslist. Buy one and have it machined to your specs for cheaper than a sleeve install.

Kuwait Craigslist (if it exists), might be a little light on LT1 stuff.

Maybe I can find some workshop here in Kuwait to sleeve my used LT1 cylinder block .

I wasn't correct in typing resleeving the old 2nd gen LT1 block because they don't have sleeves. but when they are used and have been overbored they can sleeved in a way some how.

Are you absolutely sure it needs to be sleeved? Have the bores been measured, or are they damaged?

The mechanic did a rebuild for my LT1 engine of my 1996 Impala, the rebuild was this way: I told him that I want to rebuild the LT1 engine without overboring, using the same pistons, new piston rings with new rods and crank bearings, new gaskets. After that I used the twin turbo atomic metal conditioner revitalizant from XADO company and it worked well for having a tight clearance to have the required A/F mixture compression to have the required power generated by the LT1 engine.

My car had a 476 kilometers ( 295.65 miles ) per tank with what they did to it above. Before years I had another 1996 Impala Caprice SS and it attained around 500 kilometers ( 312.5 miles ) per tank. So looks like the XADO revitalizant is a high quality product. Maybe I need to do more research to let me current 1996 Impala SS get 500 kilometers per tank.
