Default Wiring question for aftermarket harness

Hey guys, got my engine in, went to wire it up, all has went great except a few things. I have 3 wires.

red with a white trace
orange which shows grounded park/neutral

grey

i do believe the grey is for the fuel pump, I don’t have a wire going to my start solenoid on the starter.

and next I have a fuse pannel with 4 fuses, do they just accessorize what I would like? I am so close to starting it!!

Who made the Harness?
Most aftermarket stand alone harnesses don't have starter wiring, The starter is usually controlled by the harness that was in the vehicle.

Typically for GM, though certainly not universal, a relatively fat purple wire is what goes to the starter solenoid. A wiring diagram would answer all of your questions.

Your panel with four fuses - is it supplemental for your engine harness? For my PSI engine harness, I also had a supplemental fuse panel but with six fuses. Left hand coils, right hand coils, Engine/O2 sensors, reverse lockout, PCM constant power and something called "ALDL Constant" which I have no idea what that is.

ALDL power wire if I remember correctly is the 12v source on the OBD2 plug so that diagnostic tools don't have to use a separate power source.

Not sure what harness it is, I got it with the engine, I would think the fuses would be supplemental now hearing that. So the grey wire should be the fuel pump, what is the red with the white trace? And what actually powers the ECM?

What ecm are you using? You should be able to trace the wires back to where they connect to the ecm and then look at the pinout for that ecm to determine what it's for.

Excellent advice from LL above. Typically, two wires power the PCM. One of these wires is full time 12 volts that is keep alive power for retention of learned parameters within the PCM. A second power wire to the PCM is what more fully powers up the PCM - this wire is not full time hot and only comes on with the ignition key.

ok the PCM servc. number is 16188051 then below it, it has 868MFPK142849LBU. the Black connector at pin number 8 that's where the red wire with the white trace is located. then the small fuse box has one red which I would think would be battery positive.
