Default LT1 to LT4!

ok, I got a almost stock LT1 and I was thinking of getting an LT4 for it..

so any of you guys had this LT4 on his ride kindly inform me how is it? I read months ago that the LT4 gives +425HP on the engine and 350HP on wheel!

so does it really gives all that HP?

I think you are referring to the LT4 conversion kit. It comes with LT4 heads and LT4 Hot Cam. With a manual tranny and tuning 360 RWHP is a achievable. However, there are alot better cams out there than the Hot Cam that produce much better power levels.

Waste of money.. Get your heads ported, custom camshaft, all the boltons, and you will have more power and have spent a lot less money.

I suggest a GM 847 or Comp Cams 306 if your planning on some street duty miles. 3000 stall w/ 2.5 str or maybe higher, also depending on the rear gear ratio, full exh, 52mm TB and a good set of AFR195 heads or TEA Stg 2 or 3 and a tune from PCMforlessor do it your self if you can. Granted, you will need more minor bolt-ons but this is a major component list. Or if $$$ is not an issue, buy a motor from street & performance w/ pcm. quick, easy and damn powerful (and looks good too). Oh, then you could add a little shot of juice to tame those unweary vipers. If you want the quick and slightly cheaper hp, STS turbo is a good start.

EDIT: and if money is definately not an issue, see engine below. Falconer V12, available in 600 or 1100 hp, fuel injection, self contained pcm, 8 3/4" longer than sbc v8, and it will fit in f-body. redline 6200rpm.
