help! taking out cat Ok, so I'm trying to cut/unbolt my cat and replace it with an electronic cutout but i am having some trouble getting it out. on the side closest to the rear of the car what exactly do i need to do to take it off? i already unbolted the two bolts keeping the clamp thing on and the screw holding it to the bracket. I am also about 1/2 way thru cutting off at the other end but what tool is best for this? Ill post a pic in a sec. Thanks!

Well, for the cutting part I think the best tool would be a sawzall or similar type of power saw. They sell'em at home depot, lowes, and even have the cheapo ones at walmart/k-mart. I would stay away from the "quantam pro" brand one. I bought that one and it kept letting go of the blade when it got pinched. May have just been the situation but, I know that the sawzall brand is good from experience (but pricey). I just cut out my passenger side cat two days ago because the internals went bad and was rattling around real bad. (I just put in a piece of patch pipe temporarily but, thats my issue...) You said that the other side of the cat had just a clamp? Well, if you finish cutting the one side and find that the clamped side just doesn't want to let go, your probably going to have to find a torch or something to heat up the part that was clamped. This will help you wiggle it loose (if its even an issue). Hope this helps.
