Pacesetter LT's (pics) Hey, Just got my LT's that I ordered from redline performance engineering a week ago. They have great customer service and the headers came quick. The headers look good, here are a few pics for anyone considering purchasing them. I'm lookin forward to installing these :eyes: . Can anyone give me some tips, also should I use the bolts/gaskets they sent me or buy some copper gaskets? Thanks http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...e/DSCF1944.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...e/DSCF1953.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...e/DSCF1950.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...e/DSCF1948.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...e/DSCF1949.jpg :) |
I've been using the gaskets they sent with mine for about 6 months, no leaks whatsoever. Just make sure everything is clean and check the header bolts a few times after you run them, they will come loose til everything gets seated in. |
Looks like Ray Charles made those welds. |
I just helped throw a set of these on a 1995 camaro last night. They fit very well and truthfully I like the routing of them a little better than my Jet Hots. They seem to be wider than the Jethots which eliminates the problem of hitting the cross member (I still need to look under mine to compare). |
those are some good looking headers for the price. I think i am going to go ahead and get those for my car. how much did u pay for them??? |

All the other coated LT's are $500+, and the flanges on these are almost twice as thick as those on the hookers. I have the drag race (no emissions) headers though and I have heard that hooking up the emissions to these headers can be a bit of a pain in the ass. |
oh yea, and dont use the gaskets and bolts they come with, get some felpro 1406's and get some arp 1 inch 12 point header bolts or breslin locking header bolts if you wanna spend the money. Other things will need is o2 extensions, probably new o2 sensors after a month of driving with em on, new plugs and wires is a good thing, and a 12 pack of beer. |
Not bad at all for the price. |
Just don't use copper gaskets whatever you do, they suck. I had them and changed to the paper ones that came with my MAC headers within 2 weeks. |
did u get the Y-pipe and O2 sensor extension also? |
Pacesetter sends a roll of wire to cut and extend the O2 sensor wires, it would probably be best to solder the connections. That's what I used and have had no problem. The bolts and gaskets they send are fine too, been running mine for 6 months now no problems. You have to re-tighten them after they heat up and cool down a few times, as with most any header bolt. As far as getting new O2s, dont really see the need if yers are fine. Mine were the original 147,000 mile O2s and I ran them in the headers for about 5 months before I decided to change them due to the mileage. Put the new ones in and saw no difference whatsoever, and I've logged quite a bit of data before and after the new O2s. No need to buy stuff you don't need. |
How much $$$$ are they. They look like some damm good headers. |

I already bought the O2 extensions (50 bux), when I finally got the headers i saw the kit pacesetter sends you to extend the wires to the 02 :bang: . I also have new plugs and wires. I'm going to buy some fel pro gaskets this week, and I'm having a y pipe made with a cat. I think that should be about it, oh and I'm going to let the O2 sensors go for now, and if they go bad I'll buy new ones. Anything I'm forgetting, should I also buy an LT4 KM, what about a OVC wire kit? |
The LT4 KM wouldn't hurt, and its cheap. I did it. |

I dropped .4 and picked up 4 mph in the 1/8 with LTs, duals and slicks. I did have to bend the drivers side collector down a lil bit for clearance but that wasn't anything major. At the price the uncoated ones are though I would get them, I don't think they were that cheap when I got mine. |
