Good, bad, ugly, what?

That place is where by I live...

The numbers don't look very good...even though mine hasn't been dyno'd I would get in the 280-295 range. What town do you live in, and is the dyno place you were at any good?

SlowBlueFormula 06-05-2005 01:41 AM

I live in Richmond...yeah PAS is a good shop, I'd say (even if they ARE Mustang guys...they've got Saleen's everyplace, I think they're a dealership too)

And as far as the numbers, I figured since GM rated the car at 285, and figuring in the drivetrain loss, 234hp/269tq is pretty dead on. It's stone stock, remember? :D

These cars actually put down 300-310 FWHP stock. Something is off with your car.. either that or it was built on wednesday

Probably Monday while they were fighting the hangover.

97M6Formula 06-05-2005 05:59 AM

I bet its a on a mustang dyno which means those numbers are pretty much dead on

BizZzatch350 06-05-2005 09:40 AM

If its on a Mustang dyno then those numbers are correct and its making what it should. Was the dyno blue or red?

SlowBlueFormula 06-05-2005 11:14 AM

dynojet, IIRC

Our cars are RWD....but I'm assuming it's a typo ;)

The numbers are probably dead on for the condition of his car, but I have honestly seen stock 97 Formulas dyno at 265-270 RWHP.

How much did they charge you for 3 runs? Is it auto? How many miles are on it?

Brett95z 06-05-2005 01:06 PM

What gear did you dyno in?

blind527 06-05-2005 02:10 PM

Saad06 06-05-2005 02:12 PM

Slowblue and Blind, I live in Richmond and i've dynoed there too, a long time ago. Put down like 266/308 there. I don't think i've ever seen you guys around, you should come out to O'Charlys on wed. nights at 8:30, big firebird/ camaro meet and dinner.

blind527 06-05-2005 06:34 PM

I live in Chesterfield...

That Richmond Performance Musclecars site that you have in your sig. I used to visit their forums but I don't know what happened to them.

I'm currently in Illinois trying to get my transmission rebuilt ;)

HBHRacing 06-05-2005 06:42 PM

I put down 256 HP and 297 TQ totaly stock and overheating on a dynojet with my 96.

I was out there last night when some of your guys rolled in. I'm goig to try and get up there Wednesday this week.

I'm TorchTA on the RPM boards.

*mutter* wonder why the car would be down on power...the graph looked ok to me.

The LT1 That Could 06-05-2005 07:43 PM

is your car an auto?? even for being bone stock, they still are a little low.

SlowBlueFormula 06-05-2005 07:45 PM

Yes it is, and I'm starting to realize that. :)

Now taking guesses as to /why/ too.
