Longtubes, cats and O2's?

Just a quick question. If you put longtubes on a 96 SS and go with a dual cat y-pipe can you still add the rear O2 sensors and will they actually work properly that far away from the engine? I know the O2's need heat to work properly. I would just want to keep the computer reading real sensors and try to stay as close to emissions legal as possible.

I think they will work fine, but remember that the front ones are the ones that are used for fuel trims and all the rears do is set the check engine light for cat codes which are usualy just a pain so there is really no huge advantage to keep them in there

So If I had the LE2 setup with longtubes and cats and all my sensors still functioning, would I pass emissions in texas?

I dont know how they do the emissons in tx but in NJ and CT where I have lived, they simply plug into your car if its OBDII and check for a check engine light or any other emissons codes I think and for OBDI they give it the siniffer test. I dont think a LE2 package would pass a sniffer test though.
