LT's

do pacesetter LT's sound good i know they are a lot cheaper than other LT's so i was wondering if they sound as good

are you dumping straight out of the headers????? thats a real broad question unless you are dumping straight from the headers......... ask a question and explain if u have a cut-out,cat(s), true duals, or a cat back and what brand of cat back........... just my .02

i have a loudmouth

RoAdRaGe912 Dec 18, 2005 05:12 PM

yeah, that question doesn't make any sense.

the way an exhaust sounds is going to have everything to do with materials used, lengths, bends, etc so it can vary a good bit.

if you like loudmouth behind LTs then sure. it's gonna be very loud. personally i'm not a fan of loudmouth at all, but whatever works for you. it has nothing to do with the volume either as i run MAC mids to open borla with no cat. it doesn't bother me that it's really loud, but if it sounded like shit it would be sold in a hearbeat.

headers are about performance, not sound. the pacesetters are cheaper because they're not as great a design. you won't be able to squeeze out those few extra ponies that you can pull off with a better design and a better design = more money.

for you, they sound perfect. you'll pick up some power and the pacesetters give much better clearance than every other LT i've seen.

well i think it makes sense because from what everyone has told me when you put Longtube headers on a car it makes the car louder and changes the sound ive been told this countless times so my question being are pacesetters just as loud as other headers

RoAdRaGe912 Dec 19, 2005 02:57 AM

you asked if they sounded "as good." being that the exhaust sound is going to be affected much more by your muffler than the headers it doesn't make much sense.

i'm sure they'll be plenty loud. again, it's all dependant on the material that the headers are made out of and how they are shaped.

I was running an SLP loudmouth at one point, untill I installed the Pacesetter Longtubes and ORY... It was so freaking obnoxious that I ordered a Mufflex 4" catback as soon as I could... Now it sounds nice on a cruise, and the cutouts make it loud and quick for the track.
IMHO: if you street drive your car, you need a muffler if your gonna run ANY headers without cats.

with all this talk about LT's latly... i mean really.. how much are they worth on a stock car?

Lets say some some Hooker LT's, y-pipe... and strait 3 inch out the back.. no muffler (or a muffler, but then have a cutout). then maybe a moroso intake? How would that compare to a stock LT1? Times? Maybe compared to a stock LS1 (cuz everyone wants to beat at least a stock ls1..)?

Dragframe you would be dead even with a stock ls1 you will both be at about 13.5 102 with a good tune up/tune and if your auto shit your lucky throw a 3500 stall on top of that you will be flyin :drive: most of my stock a4 ls1 friends about 10 ran anywhere from 13.6-13.9 @101-103
