dyno'd today...

I put down 285hp/315tq. kinda disappointed with the numbers but whatever. think im gonna stick with appearance mods for a while. then after a while go with a nice h/c and nitrous set-up.

ec_nova May 24, 2006 07:33 PM

with my mods i put down 284, 319, i was disappointed as well. it was running like shit at the time, but i couldn't turn down some free dyno pulls!

MrBill97396 May 24, 2006 07:41 PM

Yeah just wait and get you h// and N2O.

On a side note ec_nova what wheels are on your car ? I am thinking of doing black z06's on my car. Sorry to hijack the thread.

ec_nova May 24, 2006 07:43 PM

they're ss 10 spokes. picked em up cheap and got them powdercoated, 40 bucks a wheels, they look sexy IMO. i posted a couple pics of it under the "it's our turn now" thread on page 2, i just got them on last week so i dont have a lot of pics yet.

i think ALL black z06's would look badass. once i'm fast im gonna do black prostars, that should look neat :)

NotACop97Z May 24, 2006 08:47 PM

Ive seen alot of LT1s around there. Mines still at 258 RWHP:( But not for long

imnotplutonium May 24, 2006 09:06 PM

i like your paint scheme notacop97z, never seen anything like it.

The SLP CAI, 52mm tb, pacesetter LT's/ORY, magnaflow exhaust, G-Force tune, Lt4 km.

Those are the mods that give more noticable power. The MSD, wires and SFC's help put some more power down, but not by much.

Other than the cam & tune, you have the basic bolt ons.
The LT4 cam by itself Im guessing is worth 15hp, maybe less.

I recommend a more aggresive cam, ported heads, roller lifters, comp pro mag rockers, dual valvesprings... and while your in there, new pushrods/guideplates.
Theres another 40+ hp to the wheels... I guarentee it.
Maybe more with the right cam, port job and tune.

How many miles on the motor?
I dont like the SLP CAI because its metal, and LT1's already have heatsoak issues with the Aluminum head.
When the motor is pistol warm, you will lose some power with that intake in moist conditions.
Port the TB, put in a nice 160 Degree stat, and that should cool down the motor some.
I would lose the SLP for a Moroso if you have alot of miles.

Just be patient, and buy it all @ once.
If you put all those parts in I mentioned... Your car will be a new kind of animal.
Should take around $1000 w/o installation

imnotplutonium May 24, 2006 09:12 PM

i do have a 160 stat just not in the sig. i was thinking of freshening up the valvetrain but i think i'll leave it alone for a while. my car is running good, though not as powerful as i'd like, very good. i'll have to think about it more. my slp cai doesnt seem to get too hot but maybe i'll look into the moroso. thanks for the input guys

a LT4 KM is the knock module not the cam correct?

imnotplutonium May 25, 2006 11:38 AM

yea it is, i was confused at the post too, i just thought he was giving me the specs on it then he told me to get a more aggresive cam. lol, yea i should seeing how my cam is stock

your numbers are fine for an auto.

NotACop97Z May 25, 2006 11:56 AM

I was thinking after that your numbers were weak for an LT4 cam :D I glad we got that straitened out!! LOL

imnotplutonium May 25, 2006 11:57 AM

yea that is what I've been told but still kinda sucks. lol everytime I get on here I dont see much less than 350hp at the wheels. I guess it is about h/c time then huh?

burnzilla May 25, 2006 12:23 PM

Im an Auto.

blind527 May 25, 2006 12:26 PM

Dyno numbers are over-rated. I believe it's what you do at the track that counts. ;)

nothing wrong with the slp, yes its metal, but at wot your air temp will ge the same as the outside air... its not staying in the track long enough to make a difference.
not sure what your talking about them already having an issue since we have aluminum heads... iron are alot worse.

imnotplutonium May 25, 2006 02:11 PM

yea so i've heard. burnzilla what other mods do you have to make those numbers?

TAEnvy May 26, 2006 12:08 PM

The heat soak issue with the LT1 doesnt lie in the heads but in the Metal intake. The LS1s have the composite or plastice or whatever the hell it is, intake and it is much less heat conductive.

imnotplutonium May 26, 2006 12:19 PM

yea i've really hoped a sponsor or someone would make a nice composite or f.a.s.t. style intake for our cars. guess not though.
