Default Anyone know how much horse a stock bottom end can hold??

I just bought a reconditioned lt1 (357) basically stock but with forged pistons. Anyone know what kind of horsepower this might handle. I am looking towards either the LE2 or LE3. Thanks

Stock crank isnt a problem, stock rods on a n/a set up like that isnt either, if you plan to leave it NA, then it should last a very long time. Even on a 150-200 shot, as long as the tunning is good it should last. PigPen on heres last 383 was a cast crank, stock rods and forged pistons, he was spraying a 300 shot through that thing for the past 5 or 6 years, still running when he pulled it to go bigger and better.

I think the stock stuff is even made of 4340 forged steel which in my mind competes easy to the eagle crank stuff and a lot cheaper.

Stock LT1 internals are not forged! The crank is cast, stock connecting rods are 4740 I beam Powdered metal, stock LT1 pistons are hypereutectic. Nothing is 4340 forged

Either should be fine on a stock bottom end.
There are several people floating around running LE2 and LE2+N20.
