Can't get engine out

The engine in my 95 LT1 caprice spun a bearing. Well it has a T56 out of a 97 trans am in it. We go to pull the engine out, get all the bell housing bolts out and stuff and the engine is seperated from the tranny somewhat, but something is still holding it to the tranny, is there other bolts that i didn't see or miss or what? does the tranny have to be tilted downward at the rear or what?? Any advice is appreciated, thanx.

Make sure you're pulling the motor straight as it comes away from the trans, or the clutch splines will bind on the shaft.

haha, i wasted 10 hours on this one.....i hope you dont do the same. the motor and the tranny have to be lined up perfectly. you can use one or two bell housing bolts to help it be lined up. once its all lined up, you have to engage the clutch fork and POP...it comes out. we had to remove the drive shaft and put the tranny on a jack as well to help with everything lining up because the motor was in such an awkward position. good luck man, i will check back later tonight to see ur progress.

Ur exactly right!!! didn't quite spend 10 hours, spent 10 minutes wiggling it, decided to quit and do research, i did. Went back and took off the slave clyinder and pulled it forward and went back up and wiggled it once more and out it came as pretty as could be. Thanx for the help though!!!
