I Have Some Questions About My Car...
(new to this camaro stuff i just got it not that long ago)
ok i have a 1994 6 speed camaro i dont think its the m6? i think its the t56 or whatever but anyways the mods are in my sig
i was thinking about removing my cat tom. what gains would i get if i have it taken off and do i need to rewire my o2 sensor or do i just cut the cat off put a pipe there and its done?
also i drive to cali every weekend its like 300 miles each way before i left it was poping above 5,000 rpms when i got back last night i was getting on it and it was going right up to 6K no problem so what do you think is wrong ?
i wanna put 4.11 gears in the car but how much will that hurt my gas i drive this car everyday and i like to cruise at like 90 on the freeway will this still be possible after putting gears in the car right now i can drive 105-110 at 2500 rpms
thanks guys

m6 just means: manual 6 gears. T56 is it's technical term. Yea, you can just cut the cat, put a straight pipe in, and be good to go. the O2 should be ok(but I'm a caprice person). I seam to read about 22mpg with 4.10's at around 70mph with the T56. so if you wanna travel at that speed you will need accept one of 3 things: Accept the bad gas milage, go higher to 3.73(altho if it's 3.42 stock, not much difference), or lower your travel speed.
But I really donno about the T56 milage, I drive an auto B-body.

after i installed my headers i ran a high flow cat for a few days then switched to a strait pipe and i felt a def. increase in power. so i tihnk u will feel some change... also, my car got WAY louder w/o the cat so if u want more sound def. take off the cat

if it's a single cat car, you will gain more. IIRC, single cat cars with the early, "wanted for porting, but not as good as cast" heads were rated at 275, then with the introduction of dual cars it was around 285, and then with the new, "flows as well as iron's" heads, it was 295ish, and then with the ram air, it went 300. But I'm a caprice guy. All I know is that a single cat cannot do the job that the duals on the B-body can. I would say you will see more than 3hp, but I donno **** about the sound. it you hollow it out, it will sound like a lawn mower. You may need to put a "bullet" muffler in place, or on the tips to muffle the new rasp.
But I'm all caprice(and Fleetwood), and haven't been under an LT1 F-body.
