I agree, we needed more lt1 cars. But look at it this way. With how bad we were outnumbered...we didn't do to bad.

There were only two classes that an lt1 didn't place 1st or 2nd in. Not too bad since we suposidly have inferior engines. In two classes we got 1st and 2nd.

But, I would love to see more strong lt1s show up next year. Shoot..any lt1s..brackets are there for everyone.

Re: We need more LT1's in the shootout.

ill probably bring my LT1 (95 Formula) to the southern shootout next year, and will definitly hit the northern shootout if it happens and M8. nothing spectacular that will win any classes, ill be right around 10.5 NA and somewhere ~9.5-9.7 on the bottle.

Re: We need more LT1's in the shootout.

I'm hoping to go, though its just too far away to say "I'l be there". Especially at this distance. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I *may* even bring BOTH cars. The Hawk is only about $3000 away from being either a decent MS/PA or MS/M (" Rear, Roll Bar, and A Nitrous system or larger cam (or both LOL). I can't feasibly make it a contender. I don't foresee it as a 10 second car on motor or 9s NA, but we may get competitive.

Look for us in Pro Outlaw trying to lay some smack down Nitrous'd LT1 style. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

Call that dedication. I'm sure we'd at least get the Distance award. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I really wanted to come down for it too, but school prevented me from doing that. I will however plan on making the shootout next year...there has been talk of a northern (north vs. south) shootout too.

same here, i really wanted to go but the 30hr tow was looking bad, wasnt sure how the weather was going to be, and was testing some new changes on the car....will be there next year, where ever it may be!

At least now it looks like its going to be around the same time next year as it was for this year. Start planning on those vacation times around it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I am there for sure next time. The car is in progress, and being transferred from a mid 10 car to an all out lunatic <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

Just gonna stay on it until I see red, or sand at the end of the track. Them its time to <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

I planned on being there and being competitive, but as Jason said, school is more important and I'm in Florida and the car is in Texas. I will definitly be there next year. After seeing how well it went and how much fun everyone had I'm sorry I missed it. I wish I could have made it!

We need more LT1's in the shootout.

At the ThunderShoot Out I felt like a stepchild. The LS1's out numbered us I bet 4-1.
Had a good time took second in the Street Modified Class. <- Very lucky to get this.

Tom Kempf (FSTR-THANU) and I are working in cooperation with a few others to try and make a Northern Shootout possible.

Look at the Drag Section for details and I will post updates here as they become available. <img border="0" alt="[Camaro]" title="" src="graemlins/camaro.gif" />

I think we represented the LT-1 pretty good. I had fun kicking LS-1 ass! I took out two extremly fast ones to win King of the Cane Field and one to win in MS/PA <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . I think us LT-1 guys wont let those LS-1s push us around. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I should be there next year. FMS (Futral Motor Sports) should be done with my car at the end of this week beginning of next. So Hopefully next year you can add another LT1 to the winners list.

Later,
JoMo

That's what I was trying to get at. I guess we could always rub that in to the LS1's guys <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" /> .Now, with a potentional LS1Tech day in Texas coming up in March, it would be cool for the LT1's come down there in kick some more butt. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: We need more LT1's in the shootout.

Ken, Im with ya about the amount of LS-1s compared to LT-1s. I bet if you ask alot of the LS-1 owners they will tell you they use to own an LT-1. I think alot of guys upgraded when they saw how fast they were out of the showroom. I am gonna have to see what cars are planning to run the Texas King of Hill race before I decide to go. I dont want to drive all that way to race with 2 or 3 cars. If it looks like alot of cars are running that class I might take the 30 hour trip.

Re: We need more LT1's in the shootout.

LT1s put up a good show at the Thunder event for sure! We may have some brutal LS1/LT1 setups show up for the Texas Spring Break Shootout, since I'm allowing carbed motors and no restrictions on heads. The engines just have to be LS1/LT1 based

There are also some 9 second Corvettes that will be here to play, don't forget about them <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
