hot cam and lt's install i have the lt4 hot cam kit pacesetter LTs and y-pipe waiting to be installed and almost everyone in my town tells me they dont want to even fool with it. WTF..i dont have a garage, lift etc..to do the job myself so i have to pay someone to have it done...when i finally found someone to do it he wants to charge me 1600 big ones for the install 
...now i know its not an easy install but damn is this a fair price do you guys think..also any words of caution on the install or stuff i should add with it...thanks i have a 96 SS m6.

1000 for the cam install, 200 for the springs and rockers, and 300 for the headers and exhuast pipe? Doesn't seem that off to me. I'd NEVER pay that, but I do my own work. you could do the springs and rockers with an autozone tool, and a little time. same with the headers. but the cam is gonna be a pain. you gotta take alot of stuff off, and most people say that the easist way to do it is by pulling the motor.

Ya you can do it with the motor in the car just have to romve the rad and move around the Ac stuff other than that you might as well get use to removing the stuff on the front because you will need to know eventually.

You really do not need to do cam bearing unless you think you really have to how many miles? I have 74 and with my cam install I probably wont do new bearings. But I dont know maybe im wrong does every 1 change there bearing when doing a new cam install and can that even be done with the motor in the car I always thought that the motor pretty much had to be all torn down to do them??.

No need to worry about cam bearings it's a chevy they never have trouble. As for the money for the cam swap thats a whole new story. It's aPITA so I'd call a few of our sponsors to the right any of them see what they would charge to do the work and then you have a baseline. Personally if it is any one else car but my own it's worth every penny of that grand.
