Dyno'd the car saturday

dyno'd the car saturday... wasn't TOO awful dissapointing.

made 382rwhp@5700rpm and 380rwtq@4600rpm

slightly(no joke) ported stock heads, comp503 and all the other associated crap that you'd put on one (headers, TB, CAI, etc.,)

what's everyone think?

Chopstix Oct 2, 2006 11:30 AM

congrats.....nice #'s out of the 503

Tony Shepherd Oct 2, 2006 11:41 AM

lol, this probably sounds stupid but I have no idea, when I took them to my buddy I told him not to do much to them, just get a little more velocity in the runners for torque... I guess it helped!

Very nice numbers from a small cam. What's your single plane? who did the conversion?

doug1105 Oct 3, 2006 11:06 AM

Can you post the parts you used? Springs, retainers, locks, so on?

Thanks

crap!! I forgot to add something THIS WAS DONE ON A STOCK STYLE INTAKE, NOT A SINGLE PLANE!!!I guess I should take that out of my sig for a little bit then. :bang:

me and a friend converted a used victor jr. for EFI use, bought the bungs from intakeelbows.com I think. edelbrock rails, edelbrock 4-bbl TB, along with a crank trigger style ditributor are in the works (waiting for a few more fuel line parts)

valvetrain is the comp 503, stock lifters (88k) welded pushrods, 918's, behive SBC retainers, LS6 shims under the springs, and pro-mag 1.6:1 rockers.

I'm really excited to see how the torque curve will change with the single plane. seeing as it actually has LONGER runners than stock, it should help in the mid range quite a bit.

man that's badass and with the right cam/boltons very possible, did it with the 847 cam, well 376rwhp at least, stock heads and boltons. Now get her to the track.

Thats some bad ass numbers from that little cam, Fastbirds black car made like 375 with Heads and that cam, not bad at all man!

this is an old pic from about a year ago, since then I've had the motor out and cleaned under the hood quite a bit, swapped to a 6spd (notice the tranny dipstick in this pic) painted the alternator, and bracket a natural aluminum color (rather than have it look nasty-dirty like it is here) and removed a few parts of the wiring that are no longer needed (EGR solenoid, etc.)

sorry for the low-res pics, the last one i just scanned from a picture on my desk.
