Default Our LT1s and colder weather!

Well today here in Texas we have a cold front, its probably high 60s low 70s here right now. I jumped in my 9c1 and gave her about 1/4 throttle and she starts roasting the tires. I noticed the throttle response it very crisp with this colder air. I hit WOT and chirped all the way thru 2nd! It seems like my LT1 loves and performs way better with colder weather.Anyone else notice this?

here... i'll drag out the stock lt1 slip...

Fastest time period was

14.97 @ 91.86 MPH

60' was 2.2589

freakin 1/8 was 9.6466 @ 72.95

Only thing done to car was a mallory ignition box. In fact I bounced the limiter when the trans shifted gears because the limiter on the box was lower than the shift point in the stock pcm. I fixed that problem but car never even got into the 14's after that pass.

Look at the Location by my name.. that was the DA at the time of that run... gay huh?

Oh... to tickle all the lt1 guys fancy... i was beating BRAND NEW GT MUSTANGS... lol....

fastest tracks in the USA are on the east coast in the winter months. For example when Cecil is open in Decemeber and the DA there goes into the -2000ft!@!

When I was stationed in central CA it was great. It would be 90+ during the day, then drop almost to the 50's at night. The damn car even sounded different when running it at night, and you could def. feel the stronger pull.

Of course it is, maybe he was wondering if the type of results he was getting was normal? Maybe..... Or perhaps just wondering how others LT1s react.

Cold Air = better performance

Cold Pavement = less traction
