Goals, mid 12's

i have a 97 trans am with a 6 sp. what would i need to get in the mid 12's and still keep it well mannered on the street and maintain pretty good gas mileage. right now it has a k&n intake and an exhaust cutout on stock exhaust. these are my plans:

LT headers
2 1/2 inch true duals or tsp rumbler
lt4 hotcam or something a lil bigger
4.10's
pcm4less tune
lt4 knock module
upgrade clutch and flywheel
short throw

i have a 95 ta with an a4 and lt4 hotcam, lt4 heads, hooker lt's, flowmaster, msd ignition, and had 2.73's that ran 13.9 untuned. now my 97 as is feels a bit quicker but the black one is down and out right now so i cant compare them. i figure i'm at about 13.6-13.7 with as is. should these thing parts help me reach my goal or should i get anything else. the car has 104k miles but still runs damn strong. the only problem is around 4300 rpm it stumbles a lil bit so i'm hoping to get a tune up soon and hope that fixes it. any suggestions on all these things are greatly appreciated.

if you are going to do a cam, your going to need a new set of valve springs also..........
heck i'd do those reguardless.

I would suggest something other than the lt4hotcam, yes it is a proven good cam, but it is old technology and there are much better cams out there. If you're going to get a tune you do not need the lt4 knock module. Get some drag radials and maybe consider lower control arms. Then go practice driving and mid 12s will be easy. :drive:

If you don't want to go custom, go with the CC503 or 305. If you're willing to upgrade your injectors you can get a CC306 or GM847, but you may be able to get away with the stock ones. I'd definitely do suspension, tires and gears first though.

i went 13.1 untuned, no weight reduction at all, full tank of gas, 2,73 gears, and lunching at idle last friday with whats in my sig, so u can easily do it with the listed mods and some suspension, an EWP would help too.

My suspension setup was a complete mess when i checked it after I left the track, now its all where it should be and I might go back to the track this friday and I'm shooting for mid 12's before getting the EWP, 3.73's and some more suspension tweaking in a months time.

I have longtubes and drag radials with stock (3.23) gears and i was able to cut a 2.0 60' foot and a 13.6. I think i have more in it but well see.

I still run stock injectors with my cc306 :) When I got it tuned I asked if the duty cycle was nearing too high and he said no, still would'nt mind some 42lbers though.

Check my sig, 12.8 on motor and a 12.2 on spray. No internal work done....YET!

Very do-able with a smaller cam and bolt-ons. I had a hot cam w/full valve train, LT's, 3500 stall, 3.42 gears, 30lb SVO red tops, and a tune and went 12.60's@105 on street tires with 100% stock suspension and 100% full weight.
