Default car no start/ fuel related

fuel pump went out a few months ago, replaced it with a walbro.
before i put the walbro pump in, the car would fire right up everytime.

once the walbro was in, it would take 4-8 seconds to get it to start. the fuel pressure gauge was showing on the first turn of the key, the fuel going up to 15 psi. then key off, then back on real quick and let the pump prime it would come up to 30 or so, then i would repeat a few times till i got it up to 40. then it would start.

NOW, this started 2 days ago, it is taking atleast a minute to get it too start. i dont have the gauge on it anymore, but when i did have it, the fuel pressure would drop right to zero when i shut it off.

what is this an indication of?
someone said that it is the check valve? i have a picture of something that i have never seen before, but found it on the hump of the trunk after doing the install. is this ( in the pic ) the check valve?

TTT
i have the pump out right now, everything looks kosher.
where would the check valve be?
would it go into the line ( the rubber hose coming off the pump to the main line to the fuel rails ) would it be at one or the other of that inside that tank above the pump?
