Victor E (LT1 Guru's Please Come in)

I have a Victor E intake and Stock casting LT1 Heads, The guy doing the intake says there is no way to make the bolt pattern work? Is this true? I have heard you can use it...

Yes you can.

The best way to do it is to weld up the holes in the heads and re-drill and tap them to fit the intake. But....then you can never go back to the LT1 intake. Thats why we chose to drill my Victor E to fit on LT1 style heads.

I have the Victor E also.

Harold at PortPros, drills them to spec on your heads.

Tony.

Ok so the local machine shop guy cant get it.. i might have to send it out to port pros or something. Do u think this intake will hurt on a LE2 factory lt1 head? i know the intake is overkill but u think it will take away power from the motor from the lt1 to single plain?

You should see an 'ok' gain. Usualy the bigger intake is needed for bigger heads but....

You can never have to much air.

Tony.

The conversion is not hard IF you know how to do it correctly.

Matching the ports up with a LT1 casting is not easy though on most of these intakes, I would definately look at that and porting them as well.

'93-'96 model head castings are cast with "bosses" or whatever you wanna call it- to drill/tap the standard SBC bolt pattern on your heads.. check it out when you take your intake off.

if you had the heads off the car I'd do this, or if you aren't too particular about aluminum shavings being flung all through out your lifter valley..

I'd done this to my heads, but apparently GM decided to change '97 heads just a little bit so you can't drill/tap them.. :bang:
