LS1 6 Speed. What's the difference?

I see alot of ls1 6speed setups for sale on this forumn. What is the main difference from a complete ls1 6pseed setup to a lt1 6speed setup? Can I make a ls1 tranny work on a lt1 car?

-Thanks

well the clutches are different

lt1formula2000 Feb 23, 2007 03:28 PM

the front plate on the trans should be different to. LS1 are a internal slave/hydraulic throw out bearing. Where LT1's have the mount for the release fork.

Well I guess putting a ls1 6 speed in a lt1 is way out of the question. If anyone has a lt1 6 speed set-up that is willing to trade for a th350 setup shoot me a pm.

-Thanks

Damn, I'd trade you my whole 355 M6 for your car. That's a sweet looking ride. Should be able to find some M6 LT1 parts on cz28.com

throw out bearing is more expensive GM one runes about $200 or so. LS1 has a longer input shaft

If you want to convert the ls1 to lt1 style you will need the lt1 input shaft, bellhousing, and front cover.
